[edit] Biography
Trujillo was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. He didn't start with computers until his second year of college while enrolled in the business school at the University of New Mexico. His interest in technology inspired him to get a double degree in Computer Science as well as Management Science in the spring of 1983.
He was recruited by Hewlett Packard in Cupertino CA as soon as he graduated and worked as a software quality assurance engineer in the Data Systems Division. This work experience allowed Trujillo the opportunity to gain first hand experience with world class engineers in Silicon Valley. The lure of startup companies prompted Trujillo to leave HP for a new company by the name of Cadlinc which specialized in CAD/CAM software for the manufacturing industry. Cadlinc, along with SUN microsystems, was one of the first companies to develop a windows based UNIX running on a Motorola 68000 chip. Trujillo, not one to shy away from youthful risks was asked to start up a new 2 person self funded company in Albuquerque NM called Dolphin Software. Dolphin specialized in software for the coke/candy/cigarette machine vending industry. Unfortunately the business folded and Trujillo started a new company in 1989 dedicated to small business software. The first product produced by Contact Plus Corporation was entitled "Contact Plus" and was designed for DOS. Over time, Trujillo's company employed about a dozen people and development was expanded to additional products for Windows desktop/networks including "Spam Buster", "My Stuff Deluxe", "Web Cal Plus", "Task Plus", "Countdown Timer" and more.
The idea for Trujillo's first product for the iPhone, Trumpet Pro, came from Trujillo's semi-professional trumpet playing experience combined with the exciting multi-touch iPhone development environment. The initial development work enabled Trujillo to expand upon the Trumpet Pro codebase into a product for both French Horn and Trombone players.
Trujillo lives in Chapin SC. He is married and has two children.
