MacHack
From Cocoapedia
MacHack, later renamed ADHOC (for "Advanced Developers Hands-On Conference"), was an annual Mac programming conference held in southeastern Michigan in the years 1986-2005. The first was held in Ann Arbor, while later installments moved to Dearborn.
The conference was distinguished by flouting the conventions of most developer conferences. Keynote presentations were delivered at midnight, and eyes-forward sessions were de-emphasized in favor of communal coding efforts, stretching on all day and night, concluding in a "hacks show" at the conclusion of the conference. Attendees judged the hacks on both technical skill and lack of practical application.
