[edit] Biography

Drobnik was born July 24, 1974 in Vienna, Austria as the first of two children. His father Klaus was a civil engineer and teacher and his mother Stephanie was a commercial artist.

After childhood in Vienna, his parents moved to Klosterneuburg, Austria where he attended primary and secondary education. After high school he attended a 2 year vocational IT college in Vienna. He began to study Computer Science and Economy at the Technical University, Vienna, but quit after 2 years, feeling bored.

As its the custom for young technically-minded Austrians he worked as an intern with Siemens PSE where he developed a vacation planner for Windows in Turbo Pascal as well as a mockup for an insurance management program which was shown at a fair.

His employment, after mandatory military service, was with the third largest cellular network provider ONE, which later was acquired by Orange. There he performed billing and rating administration tasks which prompted him to start developing multi-platform shell tools in C++ and automatization scripts in Unix shell scripting.

Subsequent employments included software testing for Mobilkom Austria and - very briefly - for Altova. He then worked for a short time as a contractor again testing software for Raiffeisen. Before his contract could be extended he was hired on the spot by QPASS, which had just been acquired by Amdocs. There he started out as Unix system administrator for the QPASS content download platform but soon took on a full-time role providing Windows desktop support. This engagement was cut short when Amdocs, in the aftermath of the worldwide financial crisis shut down most portions of their Austria subsidiary.

He started to develop for the iOS platform in August 2008 after having purchased his first MacBook Pro and gotten an original iPhone imported from the USA. He produced several apps during his spare time and started to form a plan as to how he could sustain himself fully focussing on iOS development. Getting laid off in November 2009 with payment to continue for 3 months allowed him to dive head first into iOS development.

Drobnik is married to Britta, no children and lives in Weistrach, Austria. He has a dog named Sherlock Holmes which they rescued from being put down, and 3 cats named Murmel, Brokkoli and Hariti.

Right after surfing around through the search engines and coming across techniques that were not powerful, I figured my entire life was over. Existing devoid of the approaches to the issues you have resolved through your entire short article is a critical case, as well as the ones that might have negatively affected my entire career if I hadn't come across the blog. Your primary understanding and kindness in maneuvering all the pieces was crucial. I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't come across such a point like this. It's possible to at this point look ahead to my future. Thank you so much for this expert and amazing help.
