Polar Bear Farm Ltd is a commercial iPhone development company, founded by Layton Duncan on the October 23, 2007. It is currently based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
They claim to be the very first iPhone development company. Start-Up Magazine named Polar Bear Farm one of the top 10 start-ups of 2008.
Polar Bear Farm's first product, 'Search' was released on the 23rd of October 2007 for jail-broken iPhones. It allowed users to search contacts and calendar events on their iPhone. A feature which was missing from the core OS for a full year until iPhone OS 2.0 was released. Search was the first paid iPhone app ever released.
